Applied IRT-Software

IRT-Software uses several techniques to estimate person and item parameters (e.g. MLE, WLE, BME by Hoijtink & Boomsma, 1995; MLE, WLE, BME, EAP by Kim & Nicewander, 1993; WLE, MLE, BME, OSB and naming also h-estimators, biweight and jackknifed estimators by Warm, 1989; EM, MLF, CMLF by Rigdon & Tsatakawa, 1983).

Basically plenty of IRT-Software is available (A Fortran Program by Fischer & Scheiblechner, 1970; LOGISTIC by Wood, Wingersky & Lord, 1976; BMD by Dixon & Brown, 1977; ECTA by Goodman & Fay, 1974; BICAL by Wright & Mead, 1977; DICOT by Masters, 1984; LATENT GOLD, 2000; ICL by Hanson, 2002).

To estimate the Rasch variances of person parameters the applied IRT-Software is of interest, so we also evaluate different software in our project.
